Kids room

We spent last weekend working our our kids room! We had bought some (matching!!!) comforters a couple weeks ago.

On Friday (April 8), Wes went to Royal Bedding (go there!!) where Tom & Ginger Vignelle let us help make their mattresses! I dropped by at lunch to watch and help a little.

Friday afternoon, Wes got a call that the bunk beds we ordered were in, we weren't planning for them to come in until May! So, Friday night & all day Saturday we took apart our front bedroom and began setting up the beds! We still have a lot to do in the room (something on the walls might help!) but it's at least a start and beginning to feel real! Several times we just sat in the middle of the room and looked at each other; "we have kids" "we're parents" "are you ready for this!?"

Then we decided they didn't need to be bunked so we set them side by side
(Yes, that's a Mickey Mouse dressed as an Easter bunny on the dresser!)

On Monday (April 11) we had dinner with JT & Sheryl Turner and their 5 kids! They just returned from Uganda with 2 beautiful kids. They've been a huge blessing in helping us walk through this adoption. So thankful for their friendship, prayers, guidance and encouragement!!

We finally managed to get a smile out of Elly, she really liked my phone & taking pictures with it. She's got a beautiful smile & the longest lashes you've ever seen!

Zeke & Jett got in on the pictures too. These brothers are precious. Their smile, laugh and run are wonderful!

We sent off our Dossier to Uganda on Monday (April 11). The Dossier basically contains every single piece of information/paper about you and your family...it's crazy!

This morning (April 13) Wes had his biometric prints appointment for US Citizenship & Immigration (USCIS). The approval from USCIS will allow us to have the necessary Visa for the kids to be allowed into the country.

There is still a lot of waiting but in the mean time we are trying to prepare. I often feel overwhelmed as there's so much still to do but we are so excited and hope to have these children home soon!

Psalms 130:5-6
5I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
6my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
