Home Study approved!

We finally have our Home Study approved by the state of Alabama! This means we can finally send it into USCIS (US Citizenship & Immigration Services) and wait another 7 weeks or so for another approval! This is really getting crazy!

Our lawyer in Uganda has written a few times telling us the process is taking longer than she expected. This obviously makes us nervous. As much as we've told her where we are in the process from the git-go, there's 2 children that a grandmother is struggling to care for and is ready to hand them over to us.

As much as I'm excited & ready to go get them, I'm also overwhelmed. There's so much we still need to figure out: loans we need to apply for and hopefully receive favor and funds, finishing our Dossier, better understanding of how the actual adoption will work once we arrive back in the states, cleaning out a bedroom and preparing it for 2 precious children, education/books read, wondering about the medical condition and what's to come for the boy, etc.

It's getting late and I have a long day tomorrow, we'd appreciate your prayers!

  1. Exciting days for sure! So glad that this vital step is done and you can now hurry up and wait some more! Sorry to tell you that tends to be the name of the game...waiting. Lots of growth I'm finding in the waits though. Blessings and congrats again for the homestudy being off to USCIS!
